Craig,
I wouldn't recommend CGI(should I say Perl? ), as it's quite hard. What I would
recommend, however, is learning how to code in PHP and MySQL. I just love PHP
(I'm doing a CV service now, where people can enter their info, which is
formatted to look like a "real" CV and then other people can see it, mail it to
themself, print it and so on).
+I would recommend reding through the database and PHP related articles on the
site of WebMonkey.
+Then I'd recommend you move on to the site www.phpbuilder.com.
+I'd also recommend reading through the diary part on http://www.tdscripts.com.
+The official manual of PHP can be found at www.php.net.
Install PHP/MySQL on your home/work box and play around with it. You can use
databases, show different pages to different browsers, use cookie authentication
and so on.
Yours,
Lauri
