of how we distribute information to our alliances-- how this would be useful

Regarding RSS:  from what I've looked up, that is a standard first conceived
by Netscape.  Is RSS actually a W3C standard or is it's future still in
flux?  The articles I read left me believing this format might either become
a standard or not get adopted at all.  I saw references to RDF on the W3C
site, and I know that RSS stands for RDF Site Summary, but I'm not clear on
whether assurances have been made this will remain a standard.
