Greetings,
I am designing a new interface for one of my clients, in preparation of
launching their own domain (currently, they have an ISP address). I've
designed a simple and straightforward-looking menu/layout, and have tested
it in the nine browsers I have at my disposal. I already know about Netscape
3.04, Opera 3.62, and WebTV displaying the CSS versions of the site oddly
(sometimes quite unexpectedly), as well as how Netscape 4.72, Netscape 6
PR1, Mozilla MS15, and Opera 4.0 beta 3 have mixed results with the table
background images in the TABLES version.
However, what I'd like to know is if anyone else can duplicate a strange
behaviour I'm getting with MSIE 5.5 and AOL 5 under Windows Millennium.
Specifically, is this reproducable in non-beta operating systems (Windows
95/98/NT/2000, Macintosh, etc)?
When I click on "ISSUES" from the TABLES version of the main menu (only one
line of menu items visible), sometimes, but not always, the main menu gets
collapsed or hidden under the secondary menu. Refreshing the page almost
always corrects this, and in my tests, it only happens once (the browser
must be closed and reopened to reproduce the problem). Since the tables
versions do not use CSS Positioning, I'm at a loss as to why this happening.
I have not yet validated either version of the code, as it's still being
built.
Please check www.teleport.com/~uniform/beta and let me know what you find
out, please.
If you find additional layout problems with the menus in either version,
please let me know of them, too.
Thanks in advance!
