Hello all,
I'm implementing some poll software. I want to keep folks from
(more-or-less) stuffing the
ballot box..
One approach (which I believe Slashdot uses) is to capture the user's IP
address and, if someone from the same IP tries to vote, boink them
(nicely!).
My question is, how effective is this if someone's using a service such as
AOL (or another service), or a proxy, to access the poll? Will it "boink"
(say) all AOL users?
TIA ... .
