<select> Menu & JS

I have a drop down menu.:-

What I want to do happens in both IE 5 and NN6 PR3 properly, however NN4 has
trouble with it.  I have attached an "onMouseOver" event to a drop down menu
so that when a person selects a menu option, the page will refresh itself
and pass the selected menu option's value as a query string to itself.  This
looks like:-

http://server.com/form.htm?strGroup=Energy  in IE5 for example

but,

http://server.com/form.htm?strGroup=null  in NN4

Does anyone know why the value comes up as null in NN4?
