[HELP] mov and mpeg movies

Having a nightmare here!
We are trying to incorporate some movie clips in mov (quicktime) and mpeg
formats to our web site, but can't get them to work in every major (and not
so major) browser.
We are successful with IE5, but NS3, NS4.7 and NS6 all give different
problems (plug-ins not being launched, not showing movies, not showing
anything at all, etc....)
I have tried to use <EMBED>, <OBJECT> and a combination of both......but no
luck!
Can anyone point out if I am missing something or to a good tutorial?
