Hello!
I recently wrote to the basics list to ask for help with an XHTML site,
which I eventually had to downgrade to HTML because the client uses Netscape
4.7. This incident has put some serious doubts in my mind about a couple of
sites I am working on right now.
This particular one,
http://www.yunque.net/casadepalabras/nsat/content/about/about.html
not only looks horrible in Netscape 4.x, but causes an error to close down
the browser. I am almost sure it has to do with my use of style sheets, but
wanted to check up with you guys, since I am still in the beginning stages
of putting the site together.
So I ask you this: Please look at the site and tell me if you think I should
go back and scrap my style sheets for font tags and more mundane methods of
positioning? Or, should I forge ahead with the site, concentrating on
validation and accessibility, and create a simple page and redirect older
browsers to it?
At this point, all of the pages almost validate - that is, except for the
topmargin, leftmargin, marginheight and marginwidth tags (which I added for
the benefit of older browsers!). I must solve this dilema, not only to
provide a good service to this client, but because another site I will soon
begin is my ISP's, and it needs to be viewable using the most browsers
possible.
TIA,
Mirella :-)
