You need to specify a target in your links, or possibly in your frameset,
but I prefer in my links.
<a href="page_to_open.html" target="main_frame_name">Link Text</a>

Subject: Please Help! Frames Problem....
| I have been a member of HWG for some time now and read the postings with
| interest. Rarely have I needed help with something, but this time I am
| stumped. I sure hope
| someone can help me. I don't work often in frames as I don't particularly
| care for them (not to mention the search engine problems). However, for a
| few pages on our site,
| this seemed to be a better way to go due to the large volume of items we
| have. Here is the problem:
|
| The page I am working on is divided into three sections: header, menu,
and
| main frame. When one clicks on an item in the menu frame on the left
| margin, it should open in
| the main frame. However, it is opening in a new window completely. I
have
| wracked my brain and studied all the code and can't for the life of me
| understand why it is
| doing this. I would be forever grateful if someone could shed some light
| on this. I'm sure it's a simple mistake (hopefully!), but it's driving me
| batty. Here is the
| offending url: http://tri-stateantiques.com/modernchairs.htm.
|
| TIA.......
|
| Kathy
