Chat Room

I have a client that wants a chat room on his site.  All the options I am
finding include a server piece (software installed on the server).   I was
looking for something that I could host on a virtual server.  I have a Cold
Fusion option, but would really like something simpler.  I'm willing to
purchase a software package, but I don't have access to the server.

Has anyone done this?  Is there a Java/JavaScript option?

Or does anyone know of an option where the vendor will host the chat room?
I found one called FreeChat, but I'm looking for something with more
flexibility in design and administration.
