running perl scripts on a NT server?

Hiya,
A new client of mine uses NT but I have always used UNIX in the past.
Now he wants to set up various features such as messageboards, quizes etc,
but I remember reading somewhere that perl scripts will not run relaibly on
NT...
Does this ring any bells with anyone and if so, how did you tackle it?
