I would be very suspicious about this. I had a go-around with Verisign early
this year when they emailed me that they were "migrating" my domain from
registrars.com. (Supposedly they had taken over a lot of domains from
registrars.com. They even implied that registrars.com wasn't around any
more.) My domain, however, was not with registrars.com. It was - and is -
with Earthlink. They couldn't possibly have been doing anything with it even
if the other stuff they told me had been true.

I emailed them to ask (innocently, at first) how this mistake could have
happened. I got back an email thanking me for my interest in Verisign. I
tried again to tell them that they couldn't be migrating my domain and got
another marketing email. It took a couple more emails - just this side of
flames - before they stopped sending the fakey stuff.

I can't swear to it, of course, but I suspect things like this are just
scams. The idea seems to be to get your business by making you think they've
got it already. It probably works on people who aren't clear as how their
domains are administered.

I think I'd just delete their emails - unless you can send them an answer
strong enough to scare them off. I'd be very interested to see what others
in the list think about this.
