Honestly, I don't think these meta tags will hurt or hinder, slow down or
speed up the process of getting in any search engine.

Each search engine we've dealt with has some unique quirk about it and
trying to be all things to all search engines is going to be a challenge.
With as many businesses as there are on the web now, you'll find it harder
and harder to see your site anywhere in the top ten of any given search.

The company I work for has taken similar steps; we hired a co-op whose sole
job was to deal with all the search engines, work with all the departments
to come up with effective keywords, and place the resulting updated meta
tags on all our pages.  The results of all this hard work has been
inconclusive.

My recommendation is to stick to the game plan --to what you know and have
learned about meta tags.  I'm convinced that a thousand doorway pages and
several dozen "magical" meta tags will get your site categorized no faster.

There is a softare package available that claims to help improve search
positions.  Though I have my doubts, I must admit that it does simplify some
procedures and can give you some clues as to how to improve your search
engine results, by scanning all the search engines and generating reports so
you can see where you stand among the engines.  Let me know offline if you
want the link --I don't want to plug it on this group.

Stick to the rules most of us out there already know and have established to
be true:

1. Don't use keywords unrelated to the content of your site.  (my personal
site features a kitty cat.  Guess which magical keyword I try to exploit?!?)

2. Don't use the same keyword multiple times.  Some search engines will ban
you for spamming them.

3. Don't create too many "doorway" pages (same reason as number 2)

4. Don't submit the same page more than once on the same day (same reason as
number 2)
