Thank you all for the help, but I am specifically looking to do it in PHP.
NOT ASP or even XML for that matter.  At this point, all you have done is
confuse me more.

My original e-mail stated that we wanted to use PHP/mySQL and I would like
to know how to do it that way.  The links some of you have provided to the
PHP manual were useless to me because I am not a programmer and didn't
understand the bulk of the information. (My experience with PHP has been
with scripts out of books that I can customise...)

I will repeat my question again:  Using PHP/mySQL, how do I import a CSV
file from Excel?  I need specific, explicit directions...not vague
suggestions.

I'm sorry if I am coming across angry.  This client is an idiot and I'm
frustrated.  I wish I could just wash my hands of him.  But since I work for
an agency, I can't.(he's not really MY client, but the AE's)
