Only if you open the attachment or use a broken email client like Outlook
or Outlook Express. I never had a virus do anything wrong to my system or
spread a virus to my entire address book like Outlook can do because I've
been using Eudora Pro since the first day I connected to the
Internet. Aside from the hackers who write those viruses, Outlook is the
main culprit of their being distributed to so many people. On top of good
virus protection software I recommend to all my friends to ditch Outlook
and choose another email client.
