The solution that Peter gave you yesterday is probably the best you are
going to get without changing the actual frameset. The problem is that in
the IE DOM the document.title object is "read/write" and in Netscape it is
"read only" which is what happens with about 90% of the things that you try
to get working with Netscape.
The best solution is NEVER USE FRAMES

Subject: Fw: Browser title using frames
| Sorry if I am being a pain but I have not had any response and I am
getting
| desperate as I can find nothing on the web about this and my client is
being
| fussy. It's annoying because I am sure it must be simple.
|
| I did a site using frames recently with a button bar
| in the left frame and the actual site pages in the right hand frame.
| I want the title of the browser to reflect changes to the web page when
the
| right frame updates but I am unsure how to do this as it uses the title
from
| the original framset page. I have had it suggested that JavaScript can do
| this but I have been unable to get it to work. Help!
| Cheers.
|
| p.s. the URL is http://www.leighctc.kent.sch.uk/~hiu
| but it is still WELL under construction as I have not uploaded the latest
| version yet.
