I use BTinternet.com on Anytime, but I spent the last weekend talking to 400
writers at Winchester Writers Conference - my survey there suggests they are
all scared of the costs of going online. One penny a minute, for them, adds
up.

The Reader comes on CD-ROM, it's widely available and has universal
applicability - running on any platform.

The internet cache is a poor option, not allowing the index capability,
content linkages and page navigation of the Reader.

Internationally we find that the schools and universities with whom we have
contact do have Reader. Recent contacts include Malawi, Ghana, Lesotho,
South Africa, Trinidad and Tobago. However, they may not have the funds to
print off reams of material. If you find the Reader difficult to navigate
then perhaps the pdf files you are using have been poorly constructed.

As for the PDA - who knows? I use a Rocket eBook, that works OK with
encrypted HTML but it cost $200. The new MS script seems OK to me.

Instead of complaining about my occasional use of Acrobat why not
concentrate upon XML then you'll be able to present your documents in a
whole variety of formats.
