I posted this on HWG-Basic yesterday and have not got a helpful answer.

We recently moved our website to a new server and they recommended a
different Key provider ( I think Thawte)  and we are getting calls from
customers with older browsers. They say that their browser states it's an
unsecure site.  Any ideas?  We are willing to switch to Verisign, but I want
to know if this will fix the problem.  No use wasting time and money.

The only other option I see is a JavaScript browser sniffer with a pop-up
message.  That won't solve the problem.  You know they won't go download an
upgrade and come back to buy.  They will phone in the order which takes
employee time and has a higher error rate.  Ideas?
