malformed header

We're running a site w/ tomcat and the java process seems to spool
out of control every so often.  We finally managed to see the error
message and its:

[Sat Sep  7 20:50:39 2002] [error] [client 218.89.1.87] Client sent
malformed Host header

Does anyone have any experience w/ this?
