Maria,

It depends on what image compression level you used to create the PDF - you
have more control of this through Distiller.

Also, did you know that if you just make some amendments in Exchange and do
a save, Acrobat just tacks the changes onto the file end and makes it bigger
each time. Use Save As under the same name and make sure optimize is ticked
to minimise the size increase.  HTH
