Yes, you can use H1 to identify Section Headers of equal importance. As we
move towards XML the use of H1, H2 etc as a part of graphical design will
become less important than the use of these Header tags to identify the
structure of the document. Perhaps H1 would be the Page Title, H2 a section
header etc. The same principles apply when you create a Contents Table in a
word processing program.
That's the real point of all this - using a system that can be applied to a
whole variety of presentations. The dear old WWW is but part of the process
allowing writers to create content that can then be displayed on the Web,
Web TV, WAP, print, audio and multi-media presentations.
Get your head around XML - it's the road ahead.
