Shelley,

When I first sign on clients, I explain all the ways they can approach
promotion. One of the main things I explain to them is the best
way to lose business is to spam. And explain what spam is
to him. Explain that unless he has a list of email address that have
requested he mail to them, that it is considered spam. You dont have
to tell him it is rude, but as your client you can advise him of wise and
not so wise decisions. Tell him that people really frown upon unsolicited
email, and it is such a waste of resources. And if he pursues it, that he
could actually get bad press from those who are anti-spam. Explain to him
that you won't be responsible for his emailing enterprises, and have him
sign something formal to back you up.. He will then probably think twice
about it because you are so serious and business like. Then if he
pursues it, you did all you could do, he was informed and you should not be
responsibe for his actions!

Good Luck

Nancy
