That is a good point - the client is the one buying the service.  If they
buy advice from me, I give them the best I have based on years of experience
and training.

Sometimes, however, they don't buy advice and they don't want it - they just
want technical implementation of decisions already made.  So, if the client
has decided that justified text is what they want, I for one would implement
it even against my better judgment.

After all, it's their time and money that's being spent and I always make
sure I'm on the record if I disagree with a given specification, so my own
back is covered...:).

Yes you are right, but remember that on the web, the most important thing is
not the easiness of reading the text always.
Many times, the single important thing is to make the site look nice.
Unfortunately this is not a very productive idea, but this is the way many
clients want their sites.
