Window Names Conflictby "John Murray" <jmnc(at)lis.net.au> |
|
You can get caught. This guys got a site. He's using frames with an menu margin and pages delivered to the main frame. Thing is though, he's got the target name in the link in his menu frames page different to the name of the frame in his frameset. Simple problem - quickly identified - easy to demonstrate. So I whacks in the right target frame name - nothing. I must have a typo? - no. A couple of minutes of fiddling he heads off. I thinks "Bugger. There's always some bug with browsers - blooby bill gates etc etc." "Oh well, I better get on with my work". I pull the page forwards of the site I was looking at before interupted and Presto - there's the missing page - correctly getting senting to a window in the frameset of the site I was previously looking at. There is a lesson in that somewhere. Maybe it is never to use the word "main" in your frameset :)
