how to access global variables across pages ?

each of two pages (separate urls) can open other with Javascript "open".

first pages shows pie chart based on customer ordered quantities of various
items of stock that are entered on second page.

can i access javascript global variables on other pages?
if so, how? if not, what is the appropriate technique to solve this problem?
