So can you tell me why we even bother with standardizing something nobody really feels like adhering
to? :-)
I think the standards should be simply what is common between warring browsers; the rest is all just
a headache because of those clients that know it exists and want it anyway.
Just thought I'd through in my small change.

Yes, I agree. There's a lot of interesting stuff in these posts. Of course
there are also a lot of silly people ranting on about how horrible Netscape
6 is supposed to be and how it messes up their sites (didn't they ever
check them before?), but apart from that, yes, I hope this thread continues.
After all, we're facing a really new browser here and we need to find out as
quickly as possible what its bugs and its good points are. Our clients
expect us to have this knowledge, and besides, as from Tuesday any web site
should work in Netscape 6, period.
It's clear now that sticking close to the standards doesn't always do the
job (why am I not surprised), but we need to find out which parts of the
standards are incorrectly implemented and what parts we can trust.
I hope this thread goes on for some more days and gives us interesting
information.
