oops, yes of course;
because ie is part of the os, and the os is configured to open gif files
with photoshop after it's (standard) installation; traditionally m$ knows
better what you want to do than you ;-)
i have several programs for image manipulation and no default associations
for gif, jpg and png set; that's why i can also open them with ie.
btw, i've seen your original problem elsewhere on a newsgroup, but no
solution either :-(
