I use JSP on one of my projects, and ASP on the rest.

Their functionality is much the same as far as data acces and programming
logic is concerned. Java has the edge in its better execution of input
streams (although one can always use Perl in ASP)

 One of the advantages of ASP is that you can script in Perl and Python
(provided the [free] modules are installed on your server) as well as VB and
JavaScript which gives one a tremendous flexibility. One doesnt hhave this
in JSP, but this is really splitting hairs.

Both ASP and JSP give one the full power of programming languages plus Data
access.

I have not used Cold Fusion, but people tell me that the programming
capabilities (as opposed to data access) is quite limited.

I would like to hear from the CF advocates on this. For example can one use
Perl and Python (or their equivalents) in CF?

One other advantage of ASP is that one can use the full gamut of M$
technologies such as Transaction Server, MailServer, .NET etc. without too
much difficulty.
