I read some statistics a while back regarding page weight (code, graphics,
scripts, blahblahblah) in relation to load time. That total figure was
something like 47KB, graphics and all, for the "optimum maximum". Has
anyone else read anything about an "optimum maximum"?
More precisely, I'm interested in anything regarding an average, or optimum,
size as it involves the HTML code itself. Even better -- do you personally
strive for a size range when building a page/site/application, whether
deliberately or subconsciously?
It's easy enough to eyeball a page and say there's too much content, or too
many graphics, divide it up; that's not exactly what I'm asking. I guess
what I'm looking for is more "statistical" and less aesthetic.
Any insight is appreciated.
