try these meta tags

allegedly they turn it off, but when i tried it with ie5 it left a
placeholder for an image, so maybe some browser detection is needed.

anyway give it a try.

| hourly. Why on Earth should I have to create two separate style sheets for
| IE5 and IE6? WHAT WERE THEY THINKING? What happened to the option, during
| install, to retain an earlier version of IE, so I can test my pages in

| versions without needing separate boot partitions or two PCs? GRRRRR!
