Its sad to know that people get ripped off like that, and I always tell
my clients to register their domain name themselves or if they want me
to do it for them, I need all of their contact information so that the
contacts for the domain name will be theirs. I have heard of more people
doing what this guy has done than I can shake a stick at. Guess the only
thing we can do is play by the rules, make our clients aware, and be
ethical in all our business transactions.

Here's hoping you won't have much of a fight and this will be resolved
quickly.

Well, this is what I thought we would have to do but this was 
particularly deceptive since I KNOW this person THOUGHT she was buying 
the domain for herself when she hired the server space. This is why she 
is now asking ME if she should ask him to cancel the hosting but that 
he retains the domain with a question mark after it, to which I nearly 
exploded. You notice he didn't have the b**** to tell ME that he is 
"retaining" the domain name.....but this is what he tells her, and 
since she doesn't have a clue, she is not even questioning it.
But now that I've told her the bad news....

This is not like she came across another girl with this name, they 
registered this as part of their package and I have asked her to round 
up the contract so I can read just what it is she agreed to. I think 
she will have more grounds in this case, because she has been the user 
of the domain all along and just wants to change hosting.

I have reported to iCann before and won....so yes, I know what to do, 
but I just thought there might be something else I could say or do 
without having to go that route.
The slimeball did NOT mention that he "retains" the domain to me, he 
didn't dare! I've known this guy didn't smell right ever since I saw 
how much he was charging her and for basically no services.
