All objects attribute clobbered

Testing IE 5.00 Win 98 against NN4.08 Mac 0S8.1  [I know, a couple of steps
behind the lead pack but it seems a good place to see what problems you can
come across]

Some propertys not available in one or the other. Yeh. No prob.

What I noticed is that the inclusion of a property that was not available
clobbered another property that was available.

Style:
{
background-image:
url("falg.gif");
background-attachment: fixed
}

IE - yep, image in background and stays put on scroll.
NN - image not displayed at all, yet if we leave out the
"background-attachment: fixed", image displays OK.

I would have assumed that an unknown property would leave known properties
uneffected?
