any indexes defined on your tables?
you should expect to join these tables and get excellent performance
presumably when you display stuff on a web page you are not dumping
thousands of albums and thousands of artists and thousands of tracks --
perhaps just a few albums, and their associated artists and tracks, so it's
not the volume of data that's slowing things down, it's joining the tables,
and you need indexes for that
