Guys:

The fact is you do need to place closing tags...period.  I have found that
Netscape in particular has a real problem without the closing table tag.  A
few months ago I was doing a complicated form.  Once finished it rendered ok
on MSIE but the entire page was blank on Netscape. After hours of scratching
my head and pulling my hair out, I noticed that the closing table tag was
not there.  Once I added it in...voila...problem solved.

Whatever the books or rules say...it don't work...so do the deed and you get
less pain.  Besides, if you start something it's nice to finish it.  And
reading the code is much simpler.
