File Upload Win to Linuxby "John Murray" <jmnc(at)lis.net.au> |

Yeh, I know. It's like a cook asking "How do I turn the oven on?" But this list is quick with responses. I do my perl work on my mac. Nothing complicated. But I like to write my own stuff. I need to be able to us Win98 PC now to type a couple of quickies for testing on linux virtuals. I create a simple script with notepad, with Save As Type Text Document chosen at the save menu of notepad, upload it with CuteFTP with Transfer Type ASCII selected, set my permissions to 755 --> I call the script from my browser and get 500's. I go to my mac and create the same file as per usual and all is OK so it's not the server or the permissions. I'm thinking line endings, but I read that CuteFTP with Transfer Type ASCII takes care of that. I've got Frontpage and Dreamweaver and the basic Win98SE software. What do I need to do to ensure I can create scripts on this computer without having the problem I am experiencing? T.I.A. John
