HTMLArea used JavaScript, so it's not going to work if that is not supported
by the client browser. You are probably going to have wider support with a
Java-based editor. I don't know of any commercially available products, but
maybe knowing this much will help your search?

I don't know if it'd also be possible with Flash and PHP, although I suspect
it would.

I'm working on a PHP-based Content Management System. I'm looking for some
sort of add-on WYSIWYG HTML Editor that will let the users place photos,
bold
text, etc. I've tried HTMLArea v2.0 that appears to use some sort of
built-in
functionality in Internet Explorer. But I've had mixed luck with it.
Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

Has anyone here had good luck with one of these? Or is there a PHP
alternative (just the editor, not the whole CMS)?
