hehe I don't take any offense.. I use Fusion 5.0 for my websites and it does
everything I need it to, and makes it compatible for all browsers to display
pretty much the same content style, that's what I'm happy about. I used to
hate taking considerations when manually coding. It does have a lot of
quirks, but if you get to know it you can make a lot of shortcuts, like
building a framed site and stuff. I don't use it in a huge capacity so I
probably miss a lot of the known issues :) I use it mostly for personal
projects which are by no means complex. The autogeneration of navigation
bars based on grafix you create with rollover is great. I have smaller sites
which have less than frequent updates so it's perfect for me. Any version
before 4.0 was horrible, but I found 4.0 good, 5.0 much better.. But ya as
always look at known issues before you buy to see if they affect you :) Hehe
I code all day at work, so when I get home to work on my web stuff I like to
stay away from coding as much as possible, I haven't had to code any
scripting or anything since I've started using fusion :)

the place where i used to work and i had to support web authors who used it
(i stuck to homesite).  i find it to be non-intuitive, and the code that it
produces is icky at best.

i will agree that it makes site management easier, including the creation of
buttons and banners for you.  but overall, i found it to be clunky and
irritating, since wysiNOTwyg...  also, there's that issue of saving site
files to the network, which may not affect you at all, but it certainly did
us.  and the corrupted files and the bloated files...  it's definitely worth
a read on their "known issues" list if anybody's considering purchasing.

pete, i'm not coming down on you here. i can see where you could get really
good at netobjects fusion and get it to do exactly what you want (there are
all those little tricks with changing how it draws the tables for alignment
and stuff like that), but i find it to be faster and easier to code by hand,
personally.

I'm in love with NetObjects Fusion, but it's a bit more expensive than some.
If you get a chance to try it, go for it.. It's quite a piece of software. I
was a diehard notpad coder, and was one of those anti WYSIWYG people but
Fusion converted me :) It has a lot of features all in one package that are
hard to come by including complete visual site management and layout. Has
advanced features for the poweruser but also can perform similiar to a Word
Pro for the beginners to to have a page up in seconds.. It also has the
power to become a fully integreated working environment for several people
to collaborate on one site, with like page check in and check out so no one
loses there changes etc etc etc..
