Lines are remarkable unhelpful in Javascript sdebugging, so the problem may
not be here at all!

However for startes change this line to

<script type='text/javascript'>

which is now the correct way to write it.

To find out where 'line 8' is try putting in an 'obvious error' at the
beginning of you code  (I use an apostophe on a single line i.e. ')

And see what line the browser thinks it is on.
