NN4 Mac - IE 5 win98

And on NN4 mac, the space that gets rendered between the element background
color and the element border:

e.g.

.littledazzler {
background-color: #00ff00;
border-width: 5px;
}

how have we been getting around that?

That is, if I want the maybe 2 px space that is rendered as the body
background color instead of the styled tag color [this approx 2 px space
being between the rendered border and the tag background color], what am I
to do?
