Wow...you got XHTML Strict with CSS 1.0 to work with NN4.7.9? No table
layouts, and EMScript/JavaScript works with the W3C DOM?
That *is* impressive...:)
I think we can all agree that NN4 is not a problem when used with mostly
with HTML presentation layouts. It's the newer code that seems to be
causing the headaches, as well as the need to implement 2 different forms of
DHTML.
My clients also like the pages to work in NN4. However, they are
increasingly insistent that we use DHTML effects. They also like the reduced
maintenance costs associated with external stylesheets and similar
centralized file support. For these issues alone, the hour it too me to
write the PHP sniffer was an excellent investment...:)

I agree with Bryan.
Again some of you are taking a ridiculous stance if you really want to
seriously DO BUSINESS with people.
I use Netscape 4.7.9 (It was just upated and they are now selling a nice
book with it) and it runs with NO crashes whatesoever, it's light and
fast, and after coding with it, I test my pages in IE and the others and
I RARELY have to make ANY adjustments.
You people with browser "sniffers" are doing it all the hard way -- and
backwards!
Why not do it the easy way?
I've never had one complaint about stuff not being seen on any of my
pages.
And, I do a lot of remakes based on people's complaints about their
"previous" designer.
