Not freeware, but my favorite.

HTML Kit (http://chami.com) is a highly regarded, configurable and free HTML
editor.

Subject: software text editors

Hi there.

You guys were so helpful in recommending ColdFusion
resources (Thanks!) I was hoping you might be able to
help me with something else.

Of all things, I've been programming for almost 4
years, and have never bothered to find a good
programming text editor. I'd really like to find
something that would work for both HTML as well as
more standard programming such as Java. Preferably
freeware. Until now I've been using Notepad. It
certainly works, but it'd be nice to have the
automatic indent and other features that more advanced
editors have. Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Rebecca
