This is, of course, one solution. The only reason I am questioning it is
because it is because it prevents the reader from resizing fonts according
to their own personal comfort levels...

Solution is simple: always use pixels as CSS units, never points, em's or
the other stuff. Pixels are the most reliable cross-browser, cross-OS units.
