Sure...the following will work for Win9x and NT platforms:

Put this into a file, and call it "homepage.reg":
REGEDIT4

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main]
"Start Page"="http://www.your_domain.com/homepage.html"

Now, put something like this on a web page:

<.ol>
<.li><.a href="homepage.reg">Click here to update your home page!<./a><./li>
<.li>select "open this file from its current location" <./li>
<.li>click YES when it asks if you want to update your registry<./li>
<.li>click OK when it says your registry has been updated<./li>
<./ol>

Remember to remove the .'s from the HTML tags before publishing!

Is there any way to provide a link/button on a web page that will set the
user's home page to the current page without them having to use the menus?
This is an option we would like to provide on our Intranet but only if we do
not have to physically walk around to every desk and show people how to make
the changes.  At this point, we only have IE 4.0 and above browsers to deal
with.
