hi darrell
no advice, sorry, and hardly an insight, more of an observation, really...
what you're saying is that you have some copy that you want to be only
seven-tenths the size of your normal copy
and that this tiny copy is acceptable on a PC but not on a Mac
and the problem is related to its small size (i don't hear web designers
ranting that people can't read their copy that's at 1em)
now i gotta ask, why do some web sites have some copy that is a lot smaller
than the rest of the page? because they don't care if people read it or
not
like copyright notices, legal disclaimers, their helpline number...
my advice, if any, is to make sure that anything you put into this tiny
type, which will be rendered incomprehensible on the Mac, had better not be
something you want your web site visitors to read
if it is, then maybe you should rethink where and why you're using .7em
that's my insight, i know it doesn't fix your immediate problem, but there
ya go
patient: "doc, it hurts when i do that"
doctor: "don't do that"
