Difficulty with <input type='file' element

or the equivalent JavaScript submit(); function will generate an "access
denied" error on both ie5.5 and ie6 running on Windows Professional 2000.
Can anyone tell me how to get round this?

Also can anyone tell me if this occurs with IE5+ on Windows 9* or Nn6. Does
it occur on Macs etc. ?
