Hello!  :)

One of my big pet peeves on web pages is when so-called "designers"
think they know what font size is best for you.  9pt and 10pt fonts seem
to be a staple, though some go as low as 8pt, and depending on the face
used, this can be horrible.  You may think this odd when I tell you I
have 20/20 vision, but the fact is, I like to be able to sit back and
read the text on the page without squinting.  Plus, I have a huge
monitor, with my resolution set at 1920x1440, which is a great help as
far as desk space is concerned.  As I was writing this e-mail I changed
my resolution temporarily to 1600x1200, but I shouldn't have to
sacrifice work space just so I can read fonts when it should be the
responsibility of the designer to allow for adjustments for legibility's
sake anyway.

Not to preach or anything, but for those of you designing pages, please
do us all a favor and at least allow for the fact that some people like
to adjust font sizes based on the page, and it is a supreme annoyance
when you can't.

And as for the question stemming from all this, well, I was wondering if
anyone knew of any utility to counteract this, like some sort of small
program to act as a magnifying glass on web pages where the font size is
fixed.  Thanks for any help you can provide.
