    Hi All,
I've been following this thread with much curiosity, and sometimes a
little dismay, disbelief, & even a tad of anger.
OK I looked up deprecated, & was correct in my belief that it does *not*
mean "no longer in use" as it *seems* some may be thinking..
1 a archaic : to pray against (as an evil) b : to seek to avert <deprecate
the wrath ... of the Roman people -- Tobias Smollett>
2 : to express disapproval of
3 a : PLAY DOWN : make little of <speaks five languages ... but deprecates
this facility -- Time> b : BELITTLE, DISPARAGE <the most reluctantly admired
and least easily deprecated of ... novelists -- New Yorker>
Having said this, & looking at sooo many who are willing to dismiss
Nutscrape V.4+, - well I can't believe they would/could do so. I can
understand if you check your stats & get very few users, but even 5% should
not be written off/out. As a side note: on the rare occasion (for lack of
time - LOL!) I check out the adult sites I use Nutscrape with javascript
turned off. If the site dosen't work, they loose me as a visitor (they
probably don't care 'cause I wouldn't send them money anway).
Not use font & center tags? What would *that* do to early browsers? Make
a page look like crap. I think you (everyone) will find alot of Nutscrape
users out there, & most don't like V.6+ *at all* & have gone back to V.4+.
Yes we're all going to have to eventually use xhtml/css, but untill the
early browser users "upgrade", & that will still be years, I would like to
make my pages cross-browser compatable. I'm open to any/all suggestions as
to how best to accomplish this......
BTW, I use I.E. 5.5 most of the time (when I'm using my main 'puter),
mainly because I like the hover & other tags that make the pages more
visibly active. I build for it, then test in as many other browsers (& OS's
& screen res's) as I can, which is several including Nutscrape V.3.0 &
I.E.V3.02 & 4.7 (as well as the newer ones of course), & I have very few
changes to make (if at all) for them to look good & fully function. I have
never had a complaint that a page didn't look good or function properly. So
there <grin>
I use % for tables, 'cause I've seen what a set pixel table looks like
at higher resolutions...... I could go on & on, but of course these are all
just personal preferences & everyone has their opinion.....

Now; aren't there any javascript gurus that can answer my question about
my dynamic menu problem? (see previous entitled "Dynamic Menu table
problems") This is the second time I've asked a related question; the first
time I got no response *at all* (just like this time) but the client dropped
the ball so I didn't care... I try to help when I can, maybe at the cost of
most of you thinking I'm an ****** (add you own word) or something; I don't
know......
    TIA (again),
    ~ Paul
