This is an option that is much to embedded in common sense for the marketing
folks I usually deal with.  They want HTML email and there is no arguing
them out of it.  They receive it fine in Outlook Express, their mother gets
it fine, their friends in the poker club get it fine and everyone they hang
out with gets it fine.  So, they say, most people can recieve and read HTML
email just fine...:).

Who knows? Nowadays, they may be right.  The bottom line for sending it is
that there are many different gotchas.  Some ISPs require it as an
attachment, some email clients turn it into garbled garbage and some HTML
coders just can't code HTML that should be seen anywhere....:).

My advice would be to make the client a template and then refer them to a
existing mailing list tool.

Many people do not accept HTML mail. I don't because of the inordinate
amount of mail I get each day. It works well in that I never have to see
spam that makes it through my filters.
I suggest sending text only, and then a link to the page with the same
thing in HTML, otherwise a good many people will not see the message at
all, as in my case where the body has no text in it, and it just has an
attachment which I don't see, so I just trash it.
