Hi folks -

This is not directly HTML related at all. but I figure that either one of
you might be able to help me out anyway (offlist) or know where I should go
to seek help properly.

(Man - that sounds like I'm getting ready to ask for help on a psychiatric
problem, doesn't it? :))

Anyway - I need to know how to check your PC to see where the modem is
configured - what port it is naturally on and all of that.
I am trying to hook my father up to the internet - and he got the computer
from my brother who of course can't remember any of the settings. And I keep
getting "port already open" or modem not working or something. I do know
that the modem is operable, just not how to configure the rest of the system
to let them "talk" to each other, so I can dial out and get him up here.
