The biggest mistake in my life I think I made was resisting to learn CSS. I
felt like I was one of the old dinasaurs that just wanted to do it all in
good old html.
However, my interest was peaked about Xhtml and in no time had that down, it
was easy to convert, and sure made things cleaner in my opinion. Then I
decided to give CSS a try, even though it is different, and a totally
different way to work up a page. But I have been having the time of my
life. Whoa! There is so much control, and so much power in it, and I am
FREE of those blased font tags. LOL
I haven't ventured into controlling the position of things yet, but just the
style aspects are so cool. I could kick myself for not starting to use it
sooner.
I think because using CSS was so different and seemed like it was hard to
learn at first.. but it has been a hoot, since I have found out what it
does, I want to learn more, and can't pick it up fast enough. I am learning
it in stages, and even though I am not too far advanced in it, I still see
how wonderfully powerful it is. I still keep netscape in mind when I work
up pages. However since getting XP and having the version 6 browsers, I do
see some oddities.

I call it design snobbery and there is no excuse for it.

Snobbery is when you turn your nose up to something different. I was
snobbish to CSS for a long time, but have finally opened my brain and
allowed myself to try it and I tell you what there is no turning back. It
is just way too much fun.

I don't mind coding for Netscape, in fact, since it's the least crashy
browser

I don't know my Netscape seemed to choke alot in recent years, but I still
code for Netscape, and there is lot of CSS that netscape flat ignores.
Figuring out how to work around it and get the effect you want is still fun.
When my page is created with CSS and Xhtml and validates, and is clean, and
loads fast and clean, there is no better feeling.
I haven't even covered half of what CSS will do, but I am having a blast
with it.
