shouldn't we *always* be designing cross-browser sites? or is that old-hat
too, along with using transparent gifs for spacing?
yes, this is a serious question. not too long ago, it was expected that
designers have sites that worked in the top 2 or 3 browsers, if not ALL of
them. just wondering if or when that changed.

First of all, you're designing backwards. If you want to design
cross-browser sites, you should be designing for Netscape, as IE is MUCH
more forgiving, and will usually display working docs from NS properly.
